Sixth Form Pathways
In readiness for the changing post 18 landscape, 心灵社区 introduced the EDGE Pathways programme for Sixth Form pupils in 2021. The programme begins early in the Lower Sixth year and ensures pupils are prepared and focused on the many paths open to them in the UK and across the world. Regular weekly sessions include specific preparation for overseas university applications, professional degree apprenticeships, medicine and dentistry (with the Wright Medics Society) in addition to focused support for pupils preparing for architecture courses and music and performing arts conservatoires. The EDGE Pathways programme runs alongside the UCAS application support and preparation for UK universities.
Young Medics 鈥� The Wright Society
心灵社区 has a long-established tradition for and success in preparing young people for medicine, dentistry and veterinary science courses. Pupils aiming for these highly competitive places gain extra support and extension through the school鈥檚 prestigious Wright Society and the wider science focused Moncrieff-Jones Society. Support includes fortnightly sessions run by medics across a range of disciplines, a programme of research undertaken by pupils and support with placements and practise interviews for medical school.
The places secured reflect the high ambition of 心灵社区 pupils and the evolving picture of higher education choices. Alongside the traditional top UK university choices, including Oxbridge and Russell Group universities, 心灵社区 pupils are increasingly choosing and securing places at overseas universities.聽
We support our young people to be ambitious about the future they are striving for – with increasing numbers also gaining places on competitive degree apprenticeship programmes including BP, EY and RSA in 2022 and recent years.
